Waimea Bay Beach Park is a gem on the iconic North Shore of Oʻahu, Hawaii.

With its golden sands and crystal-clear waters, this beach park offers visitors a slice of paradise to enjoy under the warm Hawaiian sun.

Water in Waimea is crystal clear and gets deep quick.

It is one of my favorite beaches on Oahu.

🅿️ Waimea Bay Parking Availability: The Waimea Bay Beach Park parking lot is not huge, and you may need to wait until you find a free spot. Some people will park near the the highway and walk to the bay. Or there’s Sts. Peter and Paul Church with a $10 large parking lot, a three-minute walk from the legendary bay.

I highly recommend checking out “Jump Rock”—it’s this cool spot where you can jump into the deep blue waters. The views from up there are incredible!

Upon arrival at Waimea Bay, your eyes are immediately drawn to the huge rock perched on the shoreline, partially submerged in the pristine, crystal-clear water.

It’s near where the Waimea River meets the ocean. 

In the summer, when the water is calm, people like to climb the rock and jump into the clear blue water below.

The height of the jump changes with the tides, but it’s generally safe for good swimmers.

The area around Waimea Bay is important in Hawaiian history and traditions. Long ago, Hawaiian people lived here, and today it’s still a place for cultural events and practices.

Waimea Bay is a little secluded part in North Shore.

If you’re okay with driving 20 minutes or so, in Haleiwa town there’s a ton of restaurants and food trucks you can visit.

If you’re in need of snacks, you can walk to Foodland Pupukea, a local grocery store, in about fifteen to twenty minutes.

Locals’ Tip: Remember to bring cash, as some trucks may not accept cards. Staying hydrated under the Hawaiian sun is crucial, so pack plenty of water or buy some from vendors at the beach.

In Waimea Bay, there are no restaurants or food, really. You’ll have to drive to the nearest spots.

However the food trucks are delicious and worth the drive.

These trucks offer a variety of tasty dishes, from traditional Hawaiian meals to unique fusion creations. 

A must-try is garlic shrimp or the plate lunch, which includes rice, macaroni salad, and your choice of protein like kalua pork or teriyaki chicken. 

For something refreshing, try a poke bowl with fresh fish, rice, and toppings like avocado and seaweed salad, and don’t forget to enjoy some coconut water straight from the husk.

What I like about this Beach Park is its equipped with toilets, showers, changing rooms, and always available lifeguards.

Note: There’s no food around this area, so I recommend bringing some lunch and snacks for the day.

The closest food trucks are a short drive away towards Shark’s Cove and Pupukea or a longer drive (and traffic) to Haleiwa town.

When you visit Waimea Bay on Oahu, you can park in the lot at Waimea Bay Beach Park.

But the Parking is limited.

You might find street parking along Kamehameha Highway nearby or at the Catholic Church (about $10+).
